According to the National Intellectual Property Administration, Beijing BOE Technology Development Co., Ltd. has published a patent titled "A Light Waveguide Device and AR Display Device." The application publication date is March 26, 2024, with application publication number CN117761825A. The patent aims to improve the light efficiency of AR display devices.

The patent information reveals the provision of a light waveguide device and AR display apparatus. The light waveguide device comprises: a light waveguide plate, along with coupling gratings, reflecting elements, and coupling-out gratings arranged on the light waveguide plate. Among these, the coupling gratings are configured to couple incident light into the light waveguide plate, forming diffracted light rays within it. The reflecting elements are configured to receive the diffracted light rays from the light waveguide plate and reflect them to the coupling-out gratings. The coupling-out gratings are configured to receive the diffracted light rays reflected by the reflecting elements and emit them. The disclosed embodiments provide a new architecture for AR augmented reality display systems, capable of enhancing light efficiency.
It is reported that BOE can provide Micro OLED display modules and Fast LCD modules in the field of AR/VR devices, with sizes ranging from 0.39 inches to 5.5 inches. These modules feature high resolution, fast response, high refresh rates, and can be applied in various micro display scenarios. Additionally, BOE's MLDE technology can also provide high-quality and high-reliability LED backlight products for display products in VR/AR and other fields.
Earlier, BOE released several new micro-display products, including the global debut of a 1.3-inch dual-eye 4K Micro OLED display screen, with a pixel density of over 4000 PPI and brightness reaching 5000 nits. BOE also introduced a super-thin, wide-angle Si-OLED dual-eye optical system, which, while boasting high brightness and display density, is also lighter and thinner in design.
